When staff moves in in July 2017, World Wide Technology’s new headquarters will appear to rise out of the lake at West Port Plaza in Maryland Heights.
The six-story building will be the main part of $95 million in projects at West Port by its owner, Lodging Hospitality Management, and World Wide.
The building will be able to accommodate 1,000 workers. Included in the project is a 763-car parking garage that will replace surface parking near the new World Wide headquarters.
The company’s new headquarters will keep World Wide in Maryland Heights. The tech firm also will retain its current HQ on Fee Fee Road as a technology park. World Wide examined several sites throughout the St. Louis area before picking West Port.
Jim Kavanaugh, World Wide’s chief executive, said company officials “envision our headquarters to serve as a collaborative and innovative space for our company, our employees as well as our customers and partners who visit us regularly from all over the country and around the world.”
Bob O’Loughlin, LHM’s chief executive, said that in addition to the World Wide project, West Port will get a new 10,000-square-foot sports bar, which is expected to open in early fall 2017.
