Patrick Shaw Tells FCIA'S National Education & Committee Action Conference (ECA) "What Keeps Property Managers Up at Night"

Patrick Shaw, BOMA St Louis Treasurer and Cushman Wakefield Associate Vice President-Director of Engineering & Maintenance, spoke as part of a panel of two to the Firestop Contractors International Association (FCIA) on May 5, 2017, at their national conference at the Chase Park Plaza. FCIA asked BOMA International for a speaker, and they, in turn, asked Patrick, indicating FCIA’s high regard for BOMA in the industry and BOMA’s recognition of Patrick’s knowledge and presentation abilities. (And he plays a mean game of trivia, too.)

As a result of Patrick’s successful speaking engagement, FCIA has asked him to present the same topic at their Firestop Industry Conference & Trade Show – FIC 2017 – in Palm Springs, CA this November 7-10. They said that they believed the program he did was very powerful and something that they wanted to bring to a larger audience.

FCIA was looking for a joint presentation between a property manager and a general contractor to discuss how issues with fire-stopping systems can keep them both up at night.  The other presenter was Corey Zussman, of Pepper Construction in Chicago.  The really valuable portion of the presentation revolved around the Q&A where the contractors could ask for the building owner’s perspective, since most of the time, they only deal with the architect or the GC.
